I am a writer from Miami, FL, living in North Carolina until I graduate from Duke next December with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.

My passion for words began at a young age. I started a blog at 12, wrote poetry through middle and high school, and freestyled on car rides with friends. Still, I never took those interests seriously. I was infatuated with chemistry and calculus, and everything else fell into the category of pastime. In my third year of college, I gravitated back to literature. I realized that I wasn’t meant to be a banker or a scientist—and I took an English class with a professor who pushed me to write better and critically examine my work. I fell in love all over again.

Since then, I’ve become a staff writer for Recess, the Arts and Culture section of Duke’s school newspaper, The Chronicle. My published articles range from movie reviews to opinion pieces on music and marketing. I also write memoirs and short fiction.

As I seek opportunities post-graduation, I dream about a career combining my years of experience in the hospitality industry with my desire to write every day. A vision where words and creative concepts coalesce into safe, memorable spaces for people to enjoy.
